About this episode:

We speak with Lily Henderson from the Heart Foundation of New Zealand on their recently-updated position statement on nuts, seeds and heart health.

Research supporting the role of nuts for heart health has gained significant momentum since the publication of the landmark Adventist Health Study in 1992. The body of evidence is still growing today. But what does the most recent nut research tell us?

And what do we know about seeds? Despite them having a relatively similar nutritional profile to nuts, does the evidence also support a role for seeds in heart health?

Lily expertly explains the Heart Foundation of New Zealand’s key findings and recommendations, and their implications for practice.
