On long, hot days, simple Summer salads are just what’s needed! 

Whether it’s a quick salad for your working-from-home lunch, or for a heaving table at a big family gathering, adding a delicious handful of nuts will take your salads to the next level.

Mango and avocado are a perfect match in Summer salads. Add a handful of toasted pine nuts for crunch and be ready for a new family favourite! As well as being delicious, pine nuts are high in manganese, which is important for helping your body metabolise all the delicious nutrients in your salad.

Chicken and wild rice salad with nuts makes a great lunch or dinner on hot Summer days. Pecans are one of the few plant sources of omega-3 fatty acids, which are important for heart health. And when combined with cashews (which can help lower LDL (or ‘bad’) cholesterol), the healthy handful of nuts in this salad adds to its heart-healthiness!

Our roasted pumpkin and pistachio salad is a cinch to make. Pistachios are a nutritious addition to salads. Almong with almonds, they contain the most protein of all tree nuts – providing 20g of protein per 100g – or 6g in a 30g handful.
