As we spend more time at home, and shop less frequently, making the most of the food in our pantry is more important than ever. Nuts are a great pantry staple, as they are a nutritious, plant-based food with a relatively long shelf life.

Whether you’re cooking dinner, or preparing snacks to keep you fuelled as you work and play through the days, adding a handful of nuts is a great way to add taste, texture, and nutrition.

How many nuts can I eat?

We recommend enjoying a healthy handful of nuts every day. Local and international research shows eating just 30g of nuts most days of the week, can help lower your risk of heart disease, and type 2 diabetes. It’s also essential for weight management, and can even help you live longer!

Want to eat more nuts? No problem! A daily handful of nuts is the minimum recommendation, and as a nutritious, plant-based whole food, nuts are integral to a healthy, everyday diet.
